NEW DELHI: Two alleged gangsters wanted by the Uttar Pradesh police in many heinous cases and believed to be hiding in the Capital for the past few years, have been arrested by the Special Staff of the South-West Delhi police following an encounter. The two were accused of being involved in sale of illegal arms. The Special Staff of the South-West Delhi police comprising Sub-Inspectors Rajkumar and Ravinder Tyagi had got information that some persons were involved in sale of illegal arms in the Capital. Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid on Wednesday in Dwarka where two of the suspects, Raghuvar Gadariya and his nephew Durgpal Gadariya, were arrested following a brief exchange of fire. One Chinese pistol of 30 mm calibre, a country-made revolver and some cartridges were recovered from them. According to the police, Raghuvar and his brother, Rajender Gadariya, had been committing crimes since mid-1980s. In 1998, they formed their own gang and indulged in several dacoities in Badayun. In the mid-1990s, Raghuvar and his family members were ousted from the Gadariya community when they instigated one Suresh Pal, a relative, to kidnap and forcibly marry 14-year-old daughter of his maternal uncle. They also killed their uncle's son.
