Taluk legal services panel brings succour to thousands

ALAPPUZHA: The Lok Adalat functioning under the Karthikappally taluk legal services committee has proved that Lok Adalats could deliver justice in an effective and speedier way with very little expense to the aggrieved parties.

In the period between 2003 and 2005, the adalats conducted by the legal services committee headed by Haripad judicial first class magistrate S.H. Panchapakesan has succeeded in delivering justice in the thousands of petitions filed before it.

The important achievements of the adalat include the organising of the tsunami adalat under the direction of the Kerala High Court, the steps taken to solve the labour disputes, which came before it and the implementation of various steps in the larger interests of public in areas under its jurisdiction.The tsunami adalt had succeeded in solving more than 6,000 petitions.
