Alleged suicide by farmer at Secretariat

Special Correspondent

GANDHINAGAR: A middle-aged farmer from Vadodara, Bhalabhai Gadhavi, allegedly jumped to death from the Secretariat building here on Friday afternoon.

The police, however, said it was an accident. They said they had recovered some medicines for convulsion from his pockets. He might have had a convulsion while passing through the corridor, linking blocks one and seven of the building, and fallen from the seventh floor, they said.

The body was swiftly removed by the police and sent to the civil hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Some said he had come to the Agriculture Department with some problem and had committed suicide.
