KOZHIKODE: The reduction in fuel prices promised by the State Government is yet to reach the consumer. This is because the oil companies have not yet received the orders in this regard. Even on Friday, petroleum products were being sold at prices announced by the oil companies. This was confirmed by T.K. Pareekutty Haji, president, Kozhikode District Petroleum Dealers' Association. Mr. Haji said he had been informed that the orders had not reached oil companies even on Friday evening. He appealed to the Government to inform the companies concerned, commercial taxes department and petrol bunk owners details about the reduction in fuel prices promised by the Government without delay. He pointed out that quick action was needed if consumers were to benefit by the promised cut in fuel rates.
