Youth exhorted to update knowledge and skills

CHENNAI:
Describing India as a country that opened up new hopes and greater employment opportunities for the new age managers, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dayanidhi Maran, exhorted the youth to update their knowledge and skills to face the challenges in the highly competitive work environment.
"We have the latent talents in every sphere of activity. But, we need to keep abreast with the latest developments both nationally and globally", he said presiding over the fourth students convention organised by the Madras Management Association. Appealing to the students fraternity to make the best use of the convention as top IT professionals and captains of the Human Resource Development were sharing their valuable experiences, the Minister said the country was poised to make great strides in IT.
C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director Cavin Kare, and Senior Vice-President, MMA, outlined the traits of a good new-age manager. D.P. Padmanabhan, President, MMA, and Managing Director of Eurocon Tiles and J.N. Amrolia, Convention Chairman and Executive Director, Ashok Leyland and Major S. Lakshmanan, Executive Director, MMA, spoke.
