No breakthrough yet in double murder case

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The police have not made any breakthrough so far in the sensational double murder case in which two brothers were gunned down by two masked men in their Coca-Cola shop-cum-godown at Kalyanpuri in East Delhi on Thursday.

Apart from questioning the shopkeepers who were present in the area when the murders took place, the police are recording the statements of the relatives and friends of the deceased, Deepak and Dheeraj.

They have also lifted some fingerprints from the spot, which are being matched with those of registered criminals.

The police suspect that the attack on the Aggarwal brothers was a fallout of either personal rivalry or extortion.

Victims

The incident occurred around 3-15 p.m. on Thursday when the assailants entered the godown and opened fire at the brothers. The culprits fled on foot.

The victims were rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where Deepak was declared dead on arrival, while Dheeraj succumbed to his injuries later in the afternoon.
