Kishore shines

HYDERABAD: Kishore Sapavat's haul of seven for 34 for Nizam College was the highlight of its drawn match against R.Dayanand CC in the A division two day matches league cricket tournament on Saturday.

Nizam College 309 (Avtar Singh 61, D.Yudhveer Singh 56, Aashay Harshe 54, Kishore 44, Naren Krishna five for 93) and 126 for six (D.Yudhveer Singh 70) drew with R. Dayanand CC 141 (Eshwar Prasad 40, Kishore Sapavat seven for 34).

Jai Bhagwathi 216 for nine (Vishal 50, Bharani 47, Shiva seven for 20) drew with Telangana (match abandoned).

A Division institutional teams league:

Commercial Taxes 84 (Md. Shoaib Ashraf six for 54) tied with Green Turf CC 84 (Narender five for 24).

APSRTC 137 for eight (Deepak 46) lost to Postal 138 for five (M.Suresh 33).

B Division:

Noble CC 137 bt Tirumala CC 98 (Khaja Nizamuddin five for 10).

Mahmood CC 192 for six (Sachin 82) bt Vidyuth Soudha 125 (Sachin 4 for 20).

Sandilya shines

An unbeaten 78 by G.S. Sandilya helped Wesley JC `A' to defeat Little Flower JC by five wickets in The Hindu trophy under-19 inter-school cricket tournament on Saturday.

The scores:

Little Flower JC 164 (Nikilesh Thunga 30, Himanshu 34, Lalith Mohan four for 15) lost to Wesley JC `A' 168 for five (G.S.Sandilya 78 not out, Azmath Khan 30, Rohit three for 29).

Wesley, Vasavi in finals

Wesley College defeated A.V. College 42-29 in the semifinals of the Osmania University inter college basketball tournament on Saturday. In the other semifinal Vasavi Engineering College beat Bhavans College Sainikpuri 38-25. Sanathnagar PG wins

Sanathnagar Playground defeated SAAP 48-45 in the women's section of the MCH annual basketball championship on Saturday.

The results:

Women: Sanathnagar PG 48 (Tarangini 14) bt SAAP 45 (Radhika 10).

Men: RRC Lalaguda 75 (Vinod 26, Venkat 10, B.K. Reddy 12) bt Nizam BC 55 (S.Ahmed 16, Dominic 10). Boys Sports Company 46 (Rajesh Kumar 15, Dharmender 13 bt YMCA Secunderabad 43 (Dennis 11).

Osmania University team

V. Naresh and V. Lavanya will lead the Osmania university men's and women's teams respectively for the All India inter university cross country running championship which is to be held at Mumbai.
