Shekhawat's call to private educational institutions

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Vice-President, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, said on Saturday that private educational institutions should establish a system to enable children living below the poverty line to get access to these institutions.

Mr. Shekhawat said this while distributing J.P. Mathur Charitable Trust scholarships to students of a private school who had scored more than 75 per cent marks in previous examinations.

The Vice-President said development opportunities for poor people living in villages were getting less giving rise to inequality in society.

Bharatiya Janata Party president Lal Krishna Advani also addressed the students.
