This Day That Age
Mr. B. Gopala Reddi, Chief Minister of Andhra, who is now in Bangalore on a two-day visit, stressed the need for unity and called upon the people to foster it. He was declaring open the Mysore State headquarters office of the Automobile Association of India on September 10. Mr. K. Hanumanthaiya, Chief Minister of Mysore, who presided over the function, paid tributes to the services rendered by Mr. Gopala Reddi and said that he had taken up the stewardship of Andhra at a very difficult time. They in Mysore looked upon the people in Andhra as their own, because there was not much difference between the two. He wished that a day would come when the two States would think of appointing a commission to evolve a common script for Telugu and Kannada which would pave the way for better understanding between the people of the two States.
