BELGAUM: President of the Indian Society for Technical Education R.S. Nisar said on Sunday that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Knowledge Engineering (KE) are increasingly influencing every facet of the socio-economic structure of life, predominantly in the university education system. Addressing ISTE's National Executive Council meeting at the Visvesvaraya Technological University here, Prof. Nisar said highlighted the growing influence of ICT and KE in developed and developing economies.Prof. Nisar, who released the "VTU Information Brochure," said it is in this context that deployment of ICT & KE processes and contents in technical education and research by VTU for is welcome. Former Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University and Executive Council Member of VTU N.R. Shetty, who released the "VTU Placement Brochure," said that the development at the VTU's e-campus at "Jnana Sangam" should be a model to other universities to emulate. Vice-Chancellor of VTU K. Balaveera Reddy and Registrar M.S. Shivakumar spoke.
