GUNTUR: Fisher folk should be made aware of some basic laws related to fishing and also crisis management during emergencies like Tsunami and cyclones, said the National Fish Workers Forum chairman Hare Krishna Debnadh. Speaking at a workshop on `Community Mobilisation' conducted for the fisher folk at Nizampatnam in Guntur district, he has said that awareness helps in mitigating the common problems faced by the fishermen. The workshop was conducted by the Society for Integrated Rural Development (SFIRD). The workshop was inaugurated by the Kuchinapudi MLA, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana. Various issues like Tsunami after-effects, awareness on Andhra Pradesh Marine Fisheries Regulatory Act, Coastal Zone Regulatory Act etc. were discussed.
