Red Hat, ICAM join hands

NEW DELHI: Red Hat has announced the addition of the Institute of Advanced Computing Management (IACM) to their Authorised Training Partner Network that extends across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Red Hat's complete range of training and certification programs will now be available at IACM.

Red Hat offers Linux and open source training and certification. Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) are highly valued among professionals. Red Hat's diverse course offerings range from basic Linux administration skills such as system administration and networking to specific areas of expertise such as kernel internals, clustering and security.

Dignitaries visit Sulabh International

NEW DELHI: The wives of Ambassadors of different countries visited the Sulabh International Social Service Organisation's complex at Mahavir Enclave this past week. The dignitaries were shown simple human waste disposal techniques that do not involve scavenging. They were also taken around the complex where underground digesters convert human waste into inflammable gas which can be used for lighting and cooking purposes.

Car rally organised

NEW DELHI: As part of its sixth anniversary celebrations, Rashi Entertainment, an event management company, organised its annual Family Fun Car Rally on Sunday. The event was flagged off by K.P.S Gill, president of the Indian Hockey Federation, at Tivoli Garden Resort.

The participants were owners of Ford cars with a maximum of four participants in each vehicle. A total of 30 cars took part in the rally that covered about 70 km and culminated at Hotel Ashoka in Chanakyapuri. The rally had several unique features. It maintained secrecy about the winner till the last participant crossed the finish line. The rally gave the participants an opportunity to pile up scores through randomly picking up points from sealed envelopes available at the marshal booths along the route. The first prize went to S.V Singh who collected 58 points. The second prize went to Yogendra Singh who scored 54 and Ms. Promila Bij stood third with 50 points.

Lii drawing huge crowds

NEW DELHI: The ongoing Light India International Exhibition 2005 (Lii 2005) for lighting products, systems and technologies organised by the Indian Society of Lighting Engineers in association with the Electrical Lamp and Component Manufacturers Association of India at Pragati Maidan is drawing huge crowds.

A special highlight is the laser show on the lake at Pragati Maidan. The show will be on everyday till September 12.
