NEW DELHI: Stating that it was the responsibility of the Delhi Jal Board to supply water and ensure equitable distribution, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit stressed that conservation of water must be made every consumer's mission. Changing water usage habits was critical to the demand of water and perhaps a cultural change was required, she added. Speaking at a function in the Capital organised for setting up Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) Women Task Force on Sunday, the Chief Minister also stressed the need to check illegal construction in the city and revamp the working of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for better management of the Capital. "The multiplicity of authority existing in the city compounds the situation. This leads to inordinate delays in implementing the desired policy initiatives to alleviate the problems faced by the citizens of the city," she said.
