THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All major irrigation reservoirs in the State, except the one in Wayalar, are full. Water levels are close to the maximum reservoir levels in all cases. This was the first time after 1992 that water rose to such levels in the reservoirs. Spillways of all the dams, except the Wayalar one, have been opened. Minister for Water Resources Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that all the dams were safe. Chief Engineer (IDRB) P. Lathika had been asked to monitor the reservoir levels and take appropriate action to ensure safety. "As of now, there are no threats to safety." The executive engineers in charge of each dam were also observing the water levels and safety aspects.
