ULFA begins consultations

GUWAHATI: The People's Consultative Group (PCG), set up by the United Liberation Front of Asom to initiate negotiations for talks with the Centre, has decided to invite peace proposals from all ethnic and cultural organisations before the negotiations begin.

The group, comprising nine members drawn from various walks of life, met for the first time on Sunday. Seven members were present.

The meeting sought Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's cooperation and appreciated his positive stand.
