London: India's left-arm spinner, Murali Kartik playing in his first match in Division Two of the County championship for Lancashire put in a sterling performance to capture 10 wickets against Essex at Chelmsford. On day three of the four-day match on Sunday, before lunch, Kartik completed taking five wickets for the second time in his debut game. He dismissed three batsmen for nine runs in a superb spell of 19 balls. In the first innings, he bagged five wickets for 93 runs and in the second innings again captured five wickets for 75 runs. The scores: Essex 267 and 227 vs Lancashire 340 and 63 for no loss at lunch.
