KOLLAM: A combined all-wing annual training camp of the National Cadet Corps commenced on the Kollam SN College campus from September 7. The camp will conclude on September 18. Over 600 cadets from colleges in Kollam and Alappuzha are attending the camp. Col. Abraham Habbi, Commanding officer of the 7 Kerala Battalion NCC, Kollam, said here on Sunday that the camp concentrated on imparting training in military and non-military subjects plus other topical subjects of national interest. These would include disaster management, AIDS control measures, ecology and environment protection, road sense, traffic control, water resources management and fire fighting. The camp would also provide awareness on the employment prospects for cadets in the armed, para-military and police forces.
