The police said the duo on Wednesday had handed over Rs. 1.50 lakhs to Mr. Venkatareddy after purchasing a tractor from him. When Mr. Venkatareddy deposited the cash in the Neermanvi branch of the Tungabhadra Gramin Bank, it was noticed that the cash deposited by him contained six counterfeit notes in the denomination of Rs. 500. Talent search programme
Sources said 1,584 students from various schools across the district wrote the talent search exams (both Tamil and English) held under three categories, which were divided according to the classes the candidates were studying. The questionnaire covered various topics and the paper was set in an objective format, sources added. The results of the examination would be announced on September 18. The State Bank of India sources said that top two finishers in the Category C, meant for students in Std X-XII, would be given educational loan by the bank to pursue undergraduate studies.
