CHANDIGARH: A helicopter carrying Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was on Sunday forced to land adjacent to Jind railway station amid heavy rains. Mr. Hooda was flying from Tohana to Jind for an official engagement when the helicopter, scheduled to land at Police Lines helipad at Jind, had to touch down at Jind railway junction ground due to a downpour and low clouds, Deputy Inspector-General of Police M. S. Malik said. Due to bad weather and low clouds, the pilot could not manoeuvre the helicopter to the helipad and decided to land at Jind railway junction ground instead, he said. There was no defect in the machine, he clarified.
