KURNOOL: As the opposition parties mounted criticism, the CPI(M) claimed to explore the possibility of having a truck with the Congress in Kurnool. The CPI(M) Central committee member and MP, P. Madhu, said the party would consider even now if the Congress was willing to offer 12 seats and friendly contest at four places. Earlier, the BJP floor leader, G. Kishan Reddy, questioned the ethics of the CPI(M) over its understanding with the TDP. Mr. Madhu clarified that the CPI(M) had no understanding with the TDP anywhere and the present campaign was only motivated. He said the CPI(M) was in a crucial position in Kurnool as without its support winning the election was difficult. He said the CPI(M) was going alone in 147 places and had allied with the Congress at 144 places. Mr. Madhu said the agenda of the elections should have been the urban development policy rather than political equations.
