`NGOs offering relief to tsunami-hit'
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Several international voluntary organisations are coming forward to participate in relief operations in Krishna district after the tsunami hit the State, according to the Avanigadda MLA, M. Buddha Prasad.
The legislator was briefing the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Saturday about his recent visit to Germany along with the Krishna Joint Collector, P. Sampath Kumar. He said the Lions Club and Solidarity International, Germany, had come forward to construct cyclone shelter-cum-school buildings in four villages and a residential school for child labour in Vijayawada. The delegation visited Atlandsberg to participate in the city's 775th anniversary. The two-member team also visited Rome where they met officials of CARITAS, another international aid organisation.
