SRINAGAR: Continuing its phased pullout, the Border Security Force will complete partial de-induction of troops from this city by this month-end. BSF Deputy Inspector-General of Police K. Srinivasan, who announced this here on Sunday, said nine battalions were being shifted to the North-East to guard the borders as the deployment there was very thin. But ``the Force will continue its operations in the Kashmir valley outside the city'' and maintain its presence in Pulwama, Baramulla, Anantnag and other districts. ``Too much should not be read into the de-induction process as it is a normal process of the changeover. It has not happened overnight...'' he said. Asked if the decision was taken following Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's assurance to Hurriyat Conference leaders on reduction of troops, the DIG said: ``This decision is not that recent. We have been pulling out of the city in a phased manned since last year.'' He the change of guard in the city had to be completed by the end of last year but got delayed due to technical reasons. .
