A contest for family women

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: A five-round cultural event — Mrs. Home Maker 2005 — is being organised to highlight the hidden talents of the "silent pillars of the family."

Designed to bring out the best of the family women, the event aims to judge and award the skills relating to family health awareness, shopping faculty, general home care, and so on, says Sumathi Nivas, chief executive of the Twilite Corpos, which organises the event.

Preliminary rounds

The preliminary rounds are scheduled to start in the last week of September and the last date for submitting applications is September 22, she said. There is no age limit for participants and no special oratorical and writing skills are required to take part and excel in the competition, according to Ms. Nivas.
