BANGALORE: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge might have tried to restrain the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike councillors from going on a junket to China, but a delegation of legislators appears to have no qualms about undertaking a trip to the same country on Monday. On the invitation of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, an eight-member team will leave on Monday on a 10-day visit to China to study its socio-political development and the economic development. A statement from the India-China Friendship Association, Karnataka, says the two countries have a great deal in common. The delegation will interact with the Vice-Chairman of the National People's Congress in Beijing and other top leaders. In Jiangsu province, the delegation will meet the Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress. It will study the industrial development in China, particularly the small and major sectors and visit rural China for a first hand knowledge on agriculture, housing, and rural leased cottage industries, and the transport system in that country. The delegation includes the former Minister H.C. Mahadevappa, the Chief Whip in the Legislative Council Saleem Ahmed, B.R. Patil, L. Hanumanthaiah, C.
