Five-year-old girl drowns

BANGALORE: A five-year-old girl was drowned after she slipped into a pond in a park in Vidyaranyapura police station limits on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the girl as Madhuri. She had gone to the park along with her elder brother. While she was playing she saw a flower in the pond and went to pluck it. While doing so, Madhuri slipped and fell into the pond. Her brother who tried to save her failed in his effort.

Burgled

A laundry shop was burgled and Rs. 20,000 in cash and gold ornaments were taken away at Shakambari Nagar in Jayanagar police station limits on Saturday night.
