Renovation time at Ravindra Bharati

Centre to remain closed from September 15 to November 1

HYDERABAD: The cultural centre of the city, Ravindra Bharati will be closed down to facilitate carrying out of repairs from September 15. The Government has sanctioned Rs 75 lakh for the repairs and orders to this effect were issued today.

In the first phase, the stage and the adjoining area will be renovated. A new wooden floor will be laid at a cost of Rs 7.7 lakhs in the stage area while the area adjoining it will have a stone, non-skid flooring at a cost of Rs. 2 lakh.

Motorized pulleys at Rs. 1.3 lakh and brand new curtains at Rs.3 lakh will add a new look to the stage.

The repair of the air-conditioning plant (estimated at Rs.5 .5 lakh) , installation of new lighting (estimated Rs. 22.5 lakh) and sound system (estimated at Rs. 20 lakh) are other priorities in the agenda. The green rooms and toilets will also be repaired.

The centre will be closed till November 1, during the Andhra Pradesh formation day functions.
