TIRUPUR: State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party C.P. Radhakrishnan recently appealed to industrialist of his party to focus on the welfare of their workers. At the office-bearers' meeting of the State industry cell of the party here, he said industry and workers were sides of a coin. Prosperity of the industry and welfare of the labourers should go hand in hand.
Children's education
Industrialists should come forward to help labourers construct houses and in their children's education. Every industrialist should do his mite to improve the standards of workers, he said. The cell has decided to celebrate Visvakarma's birthday - the first worker of the world - on September 17 at Anchaneya temples across the State by performing 108 shell pujas. The State general secretary of the cell A.M. Karthikeyan and vice-president Kanapathy Santhanam said the special puja would be performed for the prosperity of the industry and the welfare of the labourers.
