MADIKERI: The Government has released an additional Rs. 6 crores to Kodagu district to take up relief operations in the wake of rain, according to the Madikeri MLA, K.G. Bopaiah, here on Tuesday. With this, the amount released for rain damage works has gone up to Rs. 12.48 crores. The Government had released Rs. 6.48 crores earlier. The Madikeri taluk BJP, under Mr. Bopaiah's leadership, had threatened to picket the Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh's residence in Bangalore on Tuesday in protest against the Government apathy in not releasing adequate funds to Kodagu for taking up rain damage works.
