PONDICHERRY: R. Nalamagarajan, Congress MLA from Cottuchery constituency in Karaikal region and Chairman of the Pondicherry Housing Board died in a private hospital in Chennai on Tuesday after a brief illness. He was 63 and is survived by wife, two sons and three daughters. The Lt Governor, M.M. Lakhera in a message said that in the demise of Nalamagarajan Pondicherry had lost an eminent legislator and social worker. The Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, said in his condolence message that the late legislator had dedicated himself for the development of the Cottuchery constituency. The Speaker, M.D. R. Ramachandran, and the Pondicherry PCC president, P. Shanmugham also expressed condolences.
