NAGERCOIL: : The Nagercoil-based St. Mary's Flying Academy, along with the Sydney Flight Training Centre, Australia, plans to start an airline pilot training programme besides a short-haul feeder service. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, A.J. Kingsley Fernandez, chairman, St. Mary's Health Educational and Research Trust, said the project, for which 2,800 acres had been identified near Panakudi, would put Nagercoil on the aviation map. It would create jobs for the locals.
