Ready to work for third front, says Mulayam

CHITRAKOOT: Trying once again to cobble together a third front, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday said his party was willing to work with all those who believed in socialism to emerge as a national alternative.

``The Samajwadi Party is willing to take along all those parties which believe in the ideals of socialism to be able to emerge as an alternative to the bigger parties and rise on the national horizon,'' he told the concluding session of a four-day training programme for party workers here. He hinted that the party could effect some changes in its policies to achieve its goals.

On the outbreak of Japanese encephalitis in the State, Mr. Yadav said his Government was not given permission to import vaccines to control the disease, which has claimed 585 lives. He criticised the Centre also for increasing the prices of petroleum products.
