CHENNAI: Reigning National junior champion G.K. Shweta, the second seed, defeated S. Janaki 6-3, 6-2 to enter the girls' quarterfinals of the PNB-Triangle Tennis Trust ITF junior tennis championship at the TTT courts here on Tuesday. In another pre-quarterfinal match, Sushrutha Reddy overcame Japanese Ayumi Yoshida, the lone foreigner left in the girls' singles draw. Parija Maloo beat Gayatri Krishnan 6-4, 7-5 in the last 16 round. The lone foreigner Gilbert Tze Chun Wong of Hong Kong posted a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Preetam Roy Moras in the boys' pre-quarterfinals. Qualifier G.P. Prajnesh made it to the quarterfinals with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Navinderpal Singh Sidhu. In an upset, Priyank Gangadharan had it easy against Gursher Harika of India, the third seed, 6-2, 6-4.
