East Bengal's second consecutive win

KOLKATA: Kingfisher East Bengal notched up its second consecutive win, beating Tollygunge Agragami 3-1 in a Premier Division encounter of the Calcutta Football League here at the Salt Lake Stadium on Tuesday.

The defending champion was given the lead by the opponent defender Manoj Das, who miscued an attempted clearance in the sixth minute. Bernard Pires made it 2-0 for East Bengal in the 20th minute before Prasanta Chakraborty pulled one back for Tollygunge Agragami in the 43rd minute. R.C. Prakash scored the third goal for East Bengal in the 87th minute.

Modern School (Barakhamba Road) beat Ganga International School by 37 runs and entered the semifinals of the Salwan Cup under-17 cricket tournament in New Delhi

The scores: Modern School (Barakhamba Road) 196 for six in 30 overs (Sahil Kher 89, Abhishek Kapoor 30) bt Ganga International School 159 in 29.3 overs (Rahul Yadav 50, Jaspreet Singh three for 29, Rushil Bhaskar three for 30).
