Jayalalithaa opens offices

CHENNAI: Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday inaugurated a Government building on Anna Salai at Nandanam constructed by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board (TNSCB) at a cost of Rs. 8.56 crores.

The building will accommodate the office of Tamil Nadu Urban Fund and Infrastructure Development Corporation in the first two floors and the office of Tamil Nadu Powerfinance Corporation in the two upper floors. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the offices on Monday.

The building constructed in an area of 27,212 sq.ft. has amenities including a parking lot, rainwater harvesting structures and parks. It has been designed to withstand natural calamities, an official release noted.

The Chief Minister also released compact discs on functions of TNSCB. Housing Board and Urban Development Minister Anitha R.Radhakrishnan received the first copy.
