Russia offers know-how to State on infrastructure

Ambassador of Russia calls on Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy

HYDERABAD: Russia has offered to share its expertise with Andhra Pradesh in the areas of infrastructure, including metro transport systems, and mining of coal and bauxite.

This was conveyed to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, when a delegation led by the Ambassador of Russia, Vyacheslav Ivanovich Trubnikov, called on him on Tuesday.

The envoy said that there were a lot of similarities between Andhra Pradesh and some of the countries in Russian Federation and the rich experience as well as the technical know-how could be exchanged.

Progressive State

He described Andhra Pradesh as one of the most progressive and forward-looking States and a role model for others, according to a press release from the Chief Minister's Office.

Cordial relations

Dr. Reddy stated that cordial relations existed between India and Russia for more than five decades, adding that the State would look forward to sharing the best practices available in Russia.

The advisor to the Government, Industries, Peter Hassan, Consul-General of Russian Federation, Chennai, and other officials from the embassy were present.
