Girl found hanging, mother suspects murder

BANGALORE: An 18-year-old girl was found hanging from a mango tree near her house in Anegundi in Kadugodi police station limits on Tuesday morning.

According to police, Sunita, a first year PUC student, had gone out with her friend three days ago. She returned home late on Monday. On Tuesday morning, Jayamma, Sunita's mother, found her hanging from the tree. She filed a complaint with the police alleging that her daughter has been murdered by two of her relatives, Ramalingappa and Nagaraju.

Inspection of the body revealed injuries on the head and neck, police said. The police, who have registered a case of murder, are on the lookout for the accused. The body has been sent for autopsy.

Burgled

Three houses and a shop were burgled at different places on Monday night.

The house of a software engineer was burgled and foreign currency and gold ornaments were taken away in RBI Layout in Subramanyapura police station limits on Monday.

According to police, H.S. Raghavendra, his wife and two children, had locked the house and left in the morning. When he returned in the evening, Raghavendra found the rear door open. In his complaint to the police, he said that miscreants had taken away $2000, 50,000 yen, Rs. 5,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs. 2.4 lakhs.

Miscreants broke open the front door of a house in Amruth Nagar and made away with Rs. 6,000 and gold ornaments. M.V. Ramashastry has filed a complaint with the Hebbal police.

The house of a doctor was burgled and gold ornaments and Rs. 68,000 were found missing in Rajaji Nagar 6th Block. Dr. Prahlad has filed a complaint with Magadi Road police.

Miscreants broke into a shop in Balepet and took away a cash box containing Rs. 1.75 lakh. Dinesh Kumar, the shop owner, has filed a complaint suspecting the involvement of Devaraj Chowdhury, his employee, in the incident. The Upparpet police have registered a case.
