Officials told to speed up works on road-widening

Team inspects thoroughfares to identify traffic bottlenecks

HYDERABAD: Senior officials of the city civic departments led by Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, S.P. Singh on Tuesday inspected some of the main thoroughfares to identify bottlenecks for a free flow of traffic in the city.

The team, including Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) A.K. Khan, Managing Director of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board K.S. Jawahar Reddy, Commissioner, MCH, Sanjay Jaju and those from roads and buildings and CPDCL, visited important junctions.

The officials went round Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki, Jubilee Hills Road Nos. 44 and 36, Banjara Hills, Somajiguda and Greenlands junction and oversaw the ongoing road-widening works.\ Mr. Singh instructed discom and water board officials to speed up the works so as to lay the roads on the widened sections. The HUDA has been asked to develop existing road from Whisper Valley to Prashasannagar for free flow of vehicular traffic.

MCH Additional Commissioners — N.V.S. Reddy, K. Dhanunjaya Reddy and Harshavardhan — Chief Engineer Dhan Singh and others were present.
