NEW DELHI: Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure smooth movement of traffic on the Capital's roads in view of the Queen's Baton Relay on Wednesday. The relay will begin at 4-30 p.m. from Red Fort and pass through Nukkar Faiz Bazar, Delhi Gate, Guru Nanak Chowk, Tolstoy Marg-Barakhamba Road crossing, Tolstoy Marg-Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Tolstoy Marg-Janpath, Windsor Place, Krishi Bhavan roundabout, Vijay Chowk, Rajpath-Rafi Marg, Rajpath-`C' Hexagon and end at National Stadium at 6-40 p.m. Motorists have been asked to avoid the route and the connected roads. According to the traffic police, no vehicles will be allowed to ply on the route. Vehicles plying on the eastern carriageway of Subhas Marg will be diverted from Chhatta Rail till the procession passes by. Buses will not be permitted to ply on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg from Raj Ghat during that time. Car labels have been issued for both the functions at Red Fort and National Stadium, where entry is also through invitation. Those not having parking labels can park their vehicles in the lawns behind the water channels on both sides of Rajpath between `C' Hexagon and Man Singh Road. No commercial and slow moving vehicles will be allowed on Ring Road between Chandgi Ram Akhara and Nizamuddin Bridge T-point from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
