BANGALORE: Jyoti Randhawa has shifted gears and is all set to launch a title assault in the Hero Honda Open South golf tournament. At the end of the second round, Jyoti's card of three under 69 put him in the lead by two strokes over the two Guptas Harinder and Ajai at the KGA course here. The cut was applied at 156 after the two rounds and six amateurs were included with the professionals for the final two rounds. Overnight leader Mukesh Kumar was off colour on the second round. Only one birdie (on the first hole) marked his card. Bogeys on 5th, 7th, 8th and a double bogey on the 14th spoilt his card as he ended four over 76. The scores (after second round): Jyoti Randhawa (71, 69) 140; Harinder Gupta (72, 70) and Ajai Gupta (71, 71) 142 each; Javed Inayat (70, 73), Matloob Rana (70, 73) and Mukesh Kumar (67, 76) 143 each; Shamim Khan(75, 70), C. Muniyappa (73, 72) and SSP Chowrasia (71, 74) 145 each; Digvijay Singh (74, 72), Gurbaaz Mann (75, 71), Sanjay Kumar (73, 73) and Karanjit Singh (71, 75) 146 each. Amateurs: P. Krishna (80, 82) 162; Riad Mahmood (85, 78) 173; Ashray Goel (86, 86) 172; Aditya Singh (88, 85) 173; Satyaprasad (86, 88) 174; IK Ponappa (90, 85) 175.
