Government schemes `should be aimed at people'

CHENNAI:
The Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary, Jayalalithaa, on Wednesday said the goal of her political life was to raise the living standards of the people.
In a statement issued on the eve of Anna's birth anniversary, Ms. Jayalalithaa said before formulating any scheme she asked herself what benefit it would bring to the people.
Schemes should be designed for the people, she added. Tamil Nadu, she said, was first in poverty-eradication measures.
The AIADMK continued the social and economic revolution started by Anna, she said.
