BALI: Sixth-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy clinched a berth in the quarterfinals of the Wismilak International on Thursday, as other seeded players Alicia Molik and Anna-Lena Groenefeld were knocked out in the second round.

Meanwhile in Beijing, persistent rain on Thursday washed out all matches on the fourth day of the China Open tennis tournament.
