FOR BETTER PAY: State Government employees staging a dharna in Shimoga on Thursday.
SHIMOGA: State Government employees belonging to the Akhil Karnataka State Government Employees Federation staged a dharna on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Thursday to press for their demands, which included the merger of the 50 per cent Dearness Allowance in the basic salary in three instalments. They also demanded removal of the disparity between the State and the Central Government employees in the basic scales and the dearness allowance and the withdrawal of the order raising the minimum length of service from 10 years to 15 years for the calculation of the pension, which should be calculated from the date of joining. The demonstrators submitted a memorandum to the district administration.
