KARIMNAGAR: Unidentified persons axed to death a naxal sympathiser in Ambatpalli village of Mahadevpur mandal on Thursday. Police sources said that four persons went to the village in a car and woke up the merchant, Trilinga Rao (35), on the pretext of summons from naxalites and took him to the village outskirts before killing him. The police suspect that the deceased might have been killed by members of Naxalite Badithula Sangham (naxalite victims association) or relatives of a surrendered naxalite, Sudati Ravi whom Maoists killed on Wednesday branding him a police informer. Villagers staged dharnas and rasta roko in Mahadevpur mandal headquarters in protest against the killing of the merchant. They set on fire an RTC bus of Hanamkonda depot in Ambatpalli village.
