BANGALORE: Three pedestrians, including two software engineers, were killed in two road accidents reported from Fraser Town and Banashankari traffic police station limits on Wednesday. The police said that around 9 p.m. a tractor hit two persons on Kammanahalli Main Road, off HDFC bank. Christie (28), a resident of Oil Mill Road in Aravindanagar in Banaswadi, was killed on the spot. Christie, a native of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, was working as an engineer in a software firm at the International Technology Park Ltd. here. When Christie, who had come out to buy food from a hotel, did not return home, her room-mate called her on her mobile phone. When the mobile phone, which was lying near the body, started ringing, a passer-by took the call and told her friend of the accident, the police said. Another person, Suryanarayana Rao (27), a native of Andhra Pradesh and an engineer with PCS Communications here, who was seriously injured in the accident, died at a hospital, the police said. The Fraser Town traffic police have seized the tractor. The police are on the lookout for the driver. In the other incident, around 7.30 p.m. a lorry hit a man near the Kanakapura Road-Ring Road junction. The name of the man, who was seriously injured, was given as Shivaprasad. He died at Victoria Hospital. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Shivaprasad was a native of Nepal, the police said. The Banashankari traffic police have seized the lorry and are on the lookout for the driver.
