THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala PSC Employees Union has demanded the State Government to drop the move to collect the premium amount for the accident insurance scheme from the salary of the employees. According to release issued by J.S. Rajesh, general secretary PSC Employees Union, the decision on whether to join the accidents insurance scheme or not should be left to the choice of the individual employees. They are also entitled to join any of the existing schemes in the country. However, when the Government is launching a welfare scheme for the benefit of the employees, the expense for the scheme should also be met by the Government, the release stated.
