Touch screen kiosk at railway workshop

Employee's personal information will be protected by a PIN system, which can be reset at his/her will.

TIRUCHI: A touch screen kiosk has been opened at the Goldenrock Railway Workshop here to enable the staff know information about their service particulars.

The Chief Workshop Engineer, Southern Railway, N.S. Kasturirangan inaugurated the kiosk at the workshop on Friday.

Through this kiosk, an employee could obtain information regarding service particulars like his/her Provident Fund balance as on date, loan particulars, settlement benefits, etc. Employee's personal information would be protected by a PIN (password) system, which could be reset at his/her will.

Declaring open the kiosk, Mr. Kasthurirangan said that this was the first workshop in the railways to introduce such a facility.
