Maharashtra CM worships at Tirumala

TIRUMALA: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh on Friday participated in the weekly ` Abhishekam' (celestial bath) of Lord Venkateswara along with his wife Vaishali Tai Deshmukh and other family members.

Mr. Deshmukh and his family members stayed inside the temple and witnessed the sacred ritual which lasted for more than one and half hours. The TTD Executive Officer, A.P.V. Narayana Sarma honoured him with `silk vastram' (sesha vastram) of the Lord on behalf of the temple management.

Later, Mr. Deshmukh motored down to Tirupati and left for Mumbai.
