KOCHI: Riyazuddin and S. Robinson led the scoring as India defeated Indonesia 86-65 in a Group IV league match of the 23rd Asian basketball championship in Doha, Qatar, on Thursday. The victory helped India finish second in the four-team group. It will now play Uzbekistan for the 11th and 12th positions. India had beaten Malaysia 82-75 and lost to Chinese Taipei 90-106 in the second phase. Meanwhile, China and Lebanon entered the final and also booked their berths for next year's World Championship in Japan. NBA star Yao Ming steered China to a 93-49 victory over South Korea, while Lebanon defeated Qatar 83-79 in the semifinals. The results: India 86 (Riyazuddin 24, S. Robinson 23, Tridip Rai 19) bt Indonesia 65.
