NEW DELHI: : The Janata Dal (United) on Friday urged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to demand the resignations of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad as a follow-up to his recent remarks, in an interview to a weekly, on the lack of governance in Bihar. "For the first time a member of the Nehru family has come out with the truth. The `crown prince,' who is being groomed to take over the reins of the party and the country, should be asked to take his remarks to the logical conclusion and demand the resignations for the collapse of administration in Bihar. For 15 years one party (RJD) has ruled in the State supported by the Congress and the same party is a part of the UPA at the Centre. Both, the RJD and the Congress are responsible for the sorry state of affairs in the State," JD (U) spokesman Shambhu Srivastav said here on Friday. At a press conference, Mr. Srivastav quoted the interview purportedly given by Rahul Gandhi to a weekly, which was picked up by the news agencies. When the JD (U) spoke of the lack of governance it was accused of being "politically motivated," he said.
