BANGALORE: Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Commissioner K. Jothiramalingam on Thursday advised BMP engineers to work "not just for monetary gains but also for satisfaction and pride of achieving milestones." He was speaking at a function organised by the BMP Engineers Welfare Association to mark the birth anniversary celebrations of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The commissioner said it was unfortunate that the present day engineers were not working with the same zeal and enthusiasm as those of the past. He pointed out that several major power and civil engineering projects, which were the first of their kind, were implemented in Karnataka several years ago. Technical Director of Paschim Hydro Energy Pvt. Ltd. P. R. Mallikarjuna, BMP Technical Adviser R. Jaiprasad, and the youngest engineers in the BMP, N. Ramesh and Lokesh, were felicitated.
